My thoughts about guitar My relationship to guitars goes back 50 years. During that time, I have lived an eventful life with many twists and turns. Even during the difficult times, however, my guitar has always stayed close by my side and sustained me. There was the time I worked as a professional musician, the change in the industry due to karaoke, and then unable to stay away from music, the time I worked as a piano tuner. I believe all of these experiences led me to making bamboo guitars. It’s like the guitar was a crutch my entire life. Passing my 60th birthday, I get to experience the joy of walking the final chapter with my guitar. Since I can’t help but love guitars, I left where I resided in Nagoya to care for my elderly mother and to open a workshop in my home of Nagano. What is so special about the guitar? That is my quest. As a person who can’t help but love guitars, I am aiming to work together to create something that fellow guitar-lovers want would want. I want to build guitars that guitar lovers can’t help but want by becoming one of them.

My thoughts about the guitar: • April 2015
The guitar is a unique instrument that has both acted as a lifelong friend to countless people and continues to evolve and develop today. It is also an instrument that helps convey the emotional stories of people throughout the world. As an advocate of the Japanese guitar, I have spent over 50 years with the instrument, 40 of which I spent in research. And that is how I arrived at the Japanese guitar. It has been 35 years now since the bamboo guitar grabbed my attention. At first it was as simple as wondering how it might sound and then making one. And that is how my bamboo guitar life began.
